Abstract:
Training explores various methods used to teach reading to children who may be struggling academically, including phonics approach, linguistic method, multisensory approach, neurological impress technique, language experience approach and reading comprehension approach. Training explains how to best implement one or a combination of approaches and gives examples of student activities and functional activities for low level readers. Training invites participants to create lesson plans for struggling readers and provides useful sources on the topic.
